    Comments? Opinions?

I keep hearing conflicting reports on what's what with the latest plan.

I'm not all smart and edumacated like Lewbaby, but I fail to see the logic.

The "financial experts" in DC seem to think giving everyone a few hundred dollars we'll all go out and spend it and give the economy a boost. Let's try cutting back on the billions we spend on other countries and then open a dialogue on fiscal responsibility at home.

Dammit, GL! Quit making sense, OK?

I just read this article and see the whole scheme as a way to buy votes.

Pelosi, D-Calif., agreed to drop increases in food stamp and unemployment benefits during a Wednesday meeting in exchange for gaining rebates of at least $300 for almost everyone earning a paycheck, including low-income earners who make too little to pay income taxes.

    She's a moran.

the $50 billion in tax cuts for business is as important a part (if not more important) than the rebates themselves. It's a consumer driven economy, and anything that can be done to help ensure that mrs and mrs and mr and miss... America can still be a part of the consumer driven circle of life should be done. I'm all for it, but I do understand those who question it. To have tax refunds followed by tax rebates will give many Americans a little bit of "freedom". If you already ear marked that tax refund for a vacation, you can use your tax rebate for something else. If you are going to use the tax rebate to pay something off, then you can use your tax refund for another purpose. Heck, you could pay off any taxes you owe with the rebate.

There's more to it than just the rebate.
